What is an outside and inside bet in roulette?

Let's start with outside bets. They can be split into even money bets and 2 to 1 bets: Even money betting (wins are paid out 1 to 1) Red or Black - A bet on all 18 black numbers or 18 red numbers. Odd or Even - You bet on the 18 odd numbers or even numbers. Highs/Lows - You can place your bet on numbers 1 to 18 or 19 to 36.
