1. Texas Hold'Em
No doubt Texas Hold’Em is the most popular poker game worldwide. In any online casino, this is the mode that stands out, with the largest number of tables available and attracting the most attention from players. TuskCasino is no exception to this rule and here you will find countless tables waiting for you. Furthermore, this poker game is widely adopted as the official version in professional tournaments, played in Las Vegas.
Not only are the rules easy and simple but also the game allows thousands of strategies and countless tactics, making the matches more competitive and interesting. The main goal of each player is to win the money or chips bet by opponents in what is called the pot.
In this poker modality, 2 to 10 players can participate, using a standard 52-card deck. Each player is dealt 2 cards, which are face down. In addition, the dealer is responsible for dealing the other 5 community cards that are shared by all players, also known as “board”.
The 5 cards are not dealt immediately. So, in the first moment, a series of 3 cards, called the flop, is opened. Then a fourth card is placed on the board, known as the turn and later the fifth and final community card, called the river, is dealt.
Once all the 5 community cards are on the table, the remaining players go to the showdown, which means showing the two cards on their hands. The player who gets the best five-card combination wins the hand and all the chips in the pot.
However, a showdown may not always happen if your opponents give up on their hands at some point in the game, from the deal to the river. This way, the winner wins the pot without the showdown, having the option of not revealing their cards.
2. Omaha
This branch, very popular in France, is another type of the Hold'Em modality, but with minor differences. Just like Texas Hold’Em, it can be practiced between two to ten people at each table.
It also has four betting rounds. However, the difference is that players are dealt four hand cards each. At the end of the game, your combination must have 5 cards, two cards out of the player’s and three cards that are turned over on the table.
Omaha High-Low: This is the same as the previously explained game, except that at the end, the chips are split into two parts: one half for the best play (“High”) and the other half for the worst (“Low”).
3. Seven Card Stud
Card Stud, or Seven Card Stud, has some major differences in the way it is played compared to the Hold'Em model. First of all, it is usually played with Fixed-Limit, which means the bet is set before the start of the game.
Each player is dealt seven cards, and there are no more community cards on the table. At the beginning of the game, each player is dealt two cards face down and one card face up. Whoever comes out with the lowest valued card makes the mandatory bet, known as the “bring in”.
After that, each player is dealt three new cards, with a round of betting in between each new card. Within these rounds, the one who starts the betting is the one who has the highest hand, counting only the open cards.
Finally, before the last round, everyone receives the last card. At the end, whoever has the highest five-card game out of seven cards wins the game.
Stud High-Low: Same reasoning as in Omaha High-Low, meaning the worst game splits the chips with the best.
4. Five Card Draw
In this poker variant, the player's goal is to make the combination that obtains the best ranking, with only five cards. Each player's hand remains hidden from other players. The advantage of this is that you can only worry about your own hand, until you get strong cards. However, the player totally loses control over his (possible) advantage over his opponents.
This is a great game for beginners. After all, to play 5-Card Draw well, you just need to have a good idea of the values of each combination in your head. Other than that, there are one round of dealing cards and two rounds of betting, in addition to a good number of cards dealt. After the initial rounds, players can exchange any cards (if they wish). Whoever has the best hand wins the pot.
